What this website collects, why, and who sees it.
Version 1.1 · Effective September 11, 2026
In short
Jacksonville Community Land Trust collects information you send through this website only for legitimate organizational and program purposes. Access is limited to authorized JCLT personnel. Information is shared outside JCLT only where that is reasonably necessary to run the program, to meet a compliance obligation, or where the law requires it. JCLT does not sell applicant information.
There is no advertising on this site, and no analytics or tracking code of any kind.
What this site collects
Only what you type into a form. Nothing is gathered in the background about who you are or where else you have been.
The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the subject you choose, your message, how you would prefer to be contacted, and whether you agree to be sent text messages.
The homebuyer application collects considerably more, because a mortgage-backed home purchase requires it: names and contact details for you and any co-applicant, dates of birth, address history, employment and income, monthly housing costs, household members, and information about your readiness to buy. It also invites, but does not require, information about race, ethnicity, sex and marital status. That last part is voluntary, is collected for fair housing monitoring and reporting, and is never a factor in whether an application is approved. You may decline to provide it.
The newsletter signup in the footer collects your email address and nothing else. It is used only to send JCLT news, and any message you receive has a way to stop them. Ask and the address is marked unsubscribed the same day.
Why it is collected
To respond to you, to review and administer applications, and to meet the reporting, audit and compliance obligations attached to the funding programs JCLT works with.
Who sees it
Access is limited to authorized JCLT personnel. Information may be shared with lenders, homebuyer education providers, government or funding partners, auditors, legal counsel, service providers, or other parties when reasonably necessary for program administration, compliance, or as required by law.
JCLT does not sell applicant information, and does not share it for anyone else's advertising.
How long it is kept
Applications and related records are retained in accordance with JCLT's records-retention policy and any applicable legal, funding, audit or program requirements.
How it is protected
JCLT takes reasonable steps to protect personal information. Everything submitted through this site travels over an encrypted connection and is stored in a database that is not reachable from the public website. Staff access requires an individual account, and what each staff member can see depends on their role.
Other services this site uses
Four of them are contacted directly by your browser, so it is worth naming them. Forms are protected from automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a real browser. The map of homes draws its background from OpenStreetMap. The photographs behind the top of the home page are served by Unsplash. Donations are processed by Givebutter, whose giving form appears on the donate page. Each of these receives the technical information any web request carries, such as your IP address.
Donations deserve a sentence of their own. Card details are entered directly into Givebutter's own form and are never received, stored or seen by this website or by JCLT. What JCLT receives from Givebutter is the record of the gift: the donor name, the amount, the date, and the contact details the donor chose to give. Givebutter emails the tax receipt. Their handling of the payment is governed by their own privacy policy.
The site itself is hosted by Netlify, and its database is hosted by Supabase. Email notifications are sent through an email delivery service. These providers process information on JCLT's behalf.
There is no analytics, advertising, or tracking code on this site, and nothing here builds a profile of you across other websites.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and JCLT does not knowingly collect information from a child through it. An application will include household members who are minors, because a household is who it is. That information is treated the same as everything else on the application.
